Fast Stripping

With the new Power Management Modules pretty much any energy input can be choosen to run your iStill at. The PMM's on the iStills 50 will allow you to choose power management settings from 0 to 4,000 Watts. You can dial in the iStill 250 from 0 to 18,000 Watts.

Higher power input in Pure Mode gives more plates and faster production. Higher power input in Potstill Mode gives ... well, a super fast stripping run.

Just the other day, we tested the iStill 250 in super fast Potstill Mode. Here are the results:

  • Heat-up: 1 hour;
  • Stripping: 2 hours;
  • Total run time: 3 hours;
  • Boiler charge: 240 liters of 8% grain wash;
  • Result: 60 liters of 31% low wines.
This way, you can use the iStill 250 to do up to 3 strip runs on one day, and do the finishing run in the same iStill 250 the next day. Underneath are some distillation schemes that show how an iStill 250 can be put into production. Production Schemes for Whiskey and Brandy With one iStill 250:
